When someone searches for your trade in your area, three companies appear in the map pack at the top of the results. Almost every call goes to those three. Below that sits page one of the organic results, where the same handful of companies show up again on their service pages. Everyone else competes for what is left, which is very little.
Most contractors are not missing from search because their work is worse. They are missing because their profile is set up wrong, their service pages do not exist or do not say what Google needs them to say, and nobody has touched either in two years.
